Whitton Class, every Tuesday 7.00 -8.00pm

April 22nd, 2014

Its is with great pleasure that the classes in Whitton’s Community Association building have started on Tuesdays between 7.00pm and 8.00pm (next to the Twickenham Academy).  A great space to practice in, parking on site and small class size means that you will have plenty of personalised teaching.   Looking forward to seeing you soon!

A small pause for reflection

February 24th, 2014

After a short break, leaving Yoga for Harmony studio, moving home, starting new work and settling into a new area I am very pleased to be starting up new classes in the Twickenham area.  I have had the opportunity to really explore my own personal practice, meet some wonderful new teachers, and couple my love of yoga with a new found joy in running.  This saw me complete the Ealing half marathon in 2013 with plans to repeat later this year.  I look forward to meeting new students and exploring yoga for runners over the forthcoming months.  I hope to see you in Whitton soon.

Om Shanti

The Prison Phoenix Trust

June 14th, 2010

I am always humbled and encouraged by the fabulous work of this charity.  After recieiving my newsletter I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to spread the word.  The Prison Phoenix Trust are a charitable organisation working within our secure establishments across the country seeking to “bring hope and healing to prisoners”.  A network of dedicated and highly committed teachers sharing their love of yoga with those who have found its healing benefits to have transformed their lives.  If you would like to find out more, or attend one of their fabulous training sessions take at look at their site.

Book Review

BODYMIND Ken Dychtwald

ISBN 978087477375

Can our bodies tell the stories of our life?  A fascinating account of how our thoughts, concerns and deeply routed energetic qualities manifest within our physcial structure.  A revealing account of whther our lives imprint on our bodies or our bodies can clearly highlight difficulties that we may not even be aware of.  A brilliant read; recommended to me through teacher training.  A slightly older book (first printed in the 1970s) but insightful and applicable tool to gain a greater insight into our own body and those who you may be practising with.

LIVING YOUR YOGA, Finding the spiritual in everyday life  Judith Lasater

ISBN096271380

As if someone climbed right inside your head and made sense of all that confusing chatter.  A fabulous read with true reflections on some of our greatest concerns; control, suffering and success to name just a few.  A book that I am sure I will return to again and again to find the perspective I need in my daily life and to inspire students.  Containing practice suggestions and daily mantras that touch the soul and that I will certainly be using to keep myself grounded.  A practical toolkit to living yoga realising that our practice is not confined to an hour in a studio or church hall once a week or that glorious 10 minutes in the morning, but every moment of every day.  An inspiration!
